Three Things Thursday

1. For years I have made comments to those of you who run in the morning regularly, claiming that I would love to do it but I “just can’t get out of bed.” As it turns out, I’ve proven not only that I can, but that I will! Just like those MWML runs can become routine, so can the early wake-up calls. Interestingly, 5AM felt like sleeping in this morning for a 5K recovery run with hubs; a few 100 metre strides thrown in felt great on the legs.

2. We’re taking off for a big family long-weekend camping trip tomorrow so I’ll be getting my long run done before work. We’ll see how I feel about those early mornings when the alarm goes off at 3:30AM…

  1. happy thursday.i still need to learn to wake up at 5 and run. ive been meaning to do it, but cant. ugh! need to learn, so that i can get all my runs in.cute pix! Awesome outfit!have fun camping! yay for the long weekend!

  2. I have no problem getting up early, it just takes me so long to get out the door…my goal for August is to be up no later than 4 every morning (keep in mind I go to bed 11:30 most nights) and be out the door before 5:30 .so, no more than 4 hours sleep! hopefully I can do it!

  3. okay, so I'm a morning runner/gym goer, waking at 5am. It did take a while to get used to, but now it's second nature. I can't imagine getting up at 3:30 though!! what time are you going to sleep tonight?!Hope you have a great time with the family – sounds like fun! Cute picutes!!

  4. "5 AM feels like sleeping in" <- yup! You're converted. Welcome to the club 😉 If I sleep til 8 on weekends/off days I feel like the whole morning is gone! Ha, not normal.3:30…Now that's impressive. Have fun on the trip!

  5. You look amazing in that outfit.Okay, now a bit less superficiality. 🙂 Good for you on the mornings. I do mornings too, but I don't know if I'll be able to keep doing it once I run for longer. 3:30 is downright impressive.

  6. You know, I run on the weekends VERY early, sometimes getting up at 3:30am or 4:00am to run. I just can't seem to translate it to the weekday though. It's the work afterwards – I can promise myself a nap after my Saturday runs, but I can't on a weekday run when I have to go to work. I can *sometimes* get up early during the week, but it is SO HARD! I'm envious that you're getting it done!

  7. I am NOT a morning runner at all. Even though I am up at 5 and at work by 6:15, I could not for the life of me run at that hour! I'm jealous the early morning running bug caught you! ;)Good luck on your long run!!

  8. Wow! I have a hard enough time getting up that early to go to work, let alone for a run.Question though–what do you eat before you do one of those long runs? Or do you just get up and run and eat when you get back?H =)

  9. Those are some of the best race pictures EVER! Excellent!My issue with morning running is that my umm, system needs at least an hour after I wake up or I run the risk of needing a potty. I just can't manage to get up at 4 am for a 5 am run.
